Why do my heartbeat rises when performing strength training?

When performing strength training it is quite normal for your heart rate go up because of the effort that is taking place.

It results from the need to more blood being pumped due to requirements imposed by the exercise. It will not be a short-term problem and your heart rate should return to normal within 5 minutes.

An important tip is to not hold the air when performing the same exercises, commonly called the Valsalva maneuver, by the associated risks, including increased blood pressure. Let this risk to Olympic weightlifters.
