Diabetes mellitus, or just Diabetes, is a chronic disease increasingly common in our population. According to the National Diabetes Centre Annual Report, we have over one million Portuguese aged between 20 and 79 years of age with Diabetes.

Diabetes is characterized by hyperglycemia - increased levels of sugar (glucose) in the blood.
