POLYARTICULAR EXERCISES VS MONOARTICULAR EXERCISES IN STRENGTH TRAINING

The order in which strength training exercises are performed is extremely important, and it is common to respect a set of assumptions in choosing the sequence of training exercises. With this, Personal Trainers indicates that:

• Training should start with exercises for large muscle groups and only later for small muscle groups, as it stimulates a superior neural, metabolic and endocrine response, which allows strength training to be optimized;

• Beginning with polyarticular exercises (exercises involving multiple joints) and only then monarticular exercises (exercises involving only one joint) require greater involvement of muscle mass and energy for their execution;

• Alternate upper and lower limb exercises;

• Alternate agonist and antagonist muscle training, such as barbell biceps training and then triceps exercise in the French press

Try this training method and see your results!

Good training!
