BENEFITS OF CALISTHENIC TRAINING

I'm sure I've heard of calisthenic training if you're a sports fan, but do you really know what it's all about?

This type of training emerged in Ancient Greece with the aim of finding a physical and aesthetic balance, the combination of the two Greek words, Kalos (Beauty) and Sthenos (Strength), gave rise to the word today known worldwide as calisthenic. This training method has been gaining more and more followers, and last year it appeared in third place in the fitness trends presented by ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine).

Callisthenic training is nothing more than using your own body weight to perform strength, endurance and agility exercises. No type of equipment is necessary, however a fixed bar and parallel bars help a lot to make elevations and bottoms. Since we only need our body to train, this type of training can be done anywhere, at home, in the garden, on the street, etc.

The best known exercises are the push-ups, sit-ups, lifts, squats and bottoms, however there is much more in the calisthenic world to be explored, one of the main goals of this training is to prepare the body to support itself, (for example the handstand or the human flag).

Just like any well-done physical activity, this type of training can bring numerous benefits to our body and health, such as:

Burning calories;

Increases physical strength;

Increases muscle mass;

Improves resistance;

Improves mobility;

Improves balance;

Improves flexibility;

Improves posture;

Improves body awareness;

Develops motor coordination;

Reduces the percentage of body fat;

Builds a symmetrical and balanced body;

Strengthens bones and joints;

Promotes a feeling of well-being.

CONCLUSION

Callisthenic training is an excellent way to gain physical condition, increase lean mass, increase endurance and agility, while promoting calorie burning, easy and practical to do only with your body weight and anywhere.

However, it is always good to remember that you should look for a qualified and specialized professional in the area, in order to carry out the exercises under surveillance and correctly, with an individualized prescription according to your abilities and needs, thus avoiding injuries in the future.
