11 tips to exercise alone
Exercising alone means to get the motivation to work out by yourself, with nobody’s help.
Sometimes we hear “Are you working out alone?”, “How can you stay motivated?”. But it’s possible for anyone of us to do it!
Everything in life is easier to achieve once we set goals. Little by little, we start seeing results and we won’t want to quit, because once it happens, results stop coming.
Here we give you some tips to start a healthy exercising routine all by yourself:
1. Take low to moderate sugar level carbohydrates 3 hours before exercising;
2. Take protein daily;
3. Water is very important to keep you hydrated and help expelling your body’s impurities through urine;
4. Eat at every 3 hours and do balanced meals with carbohydrates and proteins;
5. Increase your fibers comsumption to help remove toxins from you digestive system;
6. Eating right after exercise is primal! Have a complex carbohydrates and low fat protein meal after working out;
7. AIM FOR THE MUSCLE FAILURE. Some tips: for safety, do the supines on the machines. If there’s a failure, stop the exercise;
8. Do the PAUSE-REST method: when you hit the failure, rest the bars, dumbbells or weights, breathe for, at leats, 5 seconds and startover till next failure;
9. DROP-SET: after reaching the failure, reduce weight by 50%, and with no rest, repeat for 3 to 5 times more;
10. ISOTENSION: on lateral extensions or extensor table, hold for 2 seconds on the high point of contraction on the last 4 repetitions;
11. IN EVERY SCENARIO, MOVE THE WEIGHT AS FOLLOWING: on eccentric phase (when less pressure is applied), breathe in and bring the weight to the right amplitude. Do an explosive movement on the concentric phase (when more pressure is applied).
Summing up, it’s possible to exercise by yourself! Personal Trainers has many examples of old clients who achieved their goals and started to exercise by themselves and nowadays they’re completely independent athletes! The ideal scenario is to start with a PT for initial orientation that will quickly lead you to your goals, and then after some time, you’ll be ready to start doing it for yourself.
